Competition in the recruitment industry is fierce today and candidates know their value. Poolia began to fall behind their competitors in terms of digital development, and there was room to improve the efficiency of internal and external processes. For example, one main goal was to reduce drop-offs in the application flow.
A thorough pre-study gave insights into how the recruitment industry works today, how candidates prefer to apply for a job and what changes Poolia had to make to meet the new demands of the market. One of the most important issues to solve was to reduce bottlenecks in the application process. All candidates do not have an updated CV and one of the goals was to enable a job search in just a few clicks. So instead of having to attach a CV and personal letter, candidates today can apply for jobs directly by logging in with their LinkedIn profile.
In order for job ads to be designed optimally, a special interface for recruiters was built. This has given them new tools and reduced the constraints experienced in the previous recruitment system. The starting point has been that most people find Poolia’s ads through listings on other sites and searches, so focus has been on SEO, site structure and how the ads are designed.
Technically, it was important to find an optimal solution for implementing the new concept while making smart, future-proof technology choices. The solution was a headless CMS and an API to make Poolia recruitment functions such as ads and candidate management available to third parties. The interface is a separate front-end application based on React, which uses Contentful for content management. This makes Poolia more flexible and prepared to meet future challenges and requirements.
“We realized that our old digital platform no longer met the candidates’ needs and that we needed to find new ways in order to communicate and consequently increase our competitiveness. The new poolia.se gives us every chance to succeed. Our work has just begun and we will go all-in to develop our digital solutions and become best in class“, says Katarina Fredén, Marketing & Communications Manager at Poolia.
“It has been incredibly inspiring for all of us that have been involved in this project. We have had a client who has been brave, open and committed throughout the project, which has been key in making it such a success. The project has given Poolia a whole new base and toolbox for meeting candidates in the modern labor market, and it feels great“, says Alexander Kafkaletos, KAM at Cloud Nine.
